LeidenGlobal exhibition on the move to The Hague
The LeidenGlobal photo exhibition ‘Heritage on the Move’ will be on display at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (De Haagse Hogeschool) from September 24th till October 22nd 2019.
On the move to The Hague
The LeidenGlobal photo exhibition will be on the move to The Hague, the International City of Peace and Justice. The city is home to embassies, NGOs and many international governmental organizations. These institutes work on issues related, for example, to international law, human rights and cultural heritage. These themes are amongst others covered in the exhibition Heritage on the Move, which will be on display at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (De Haagse Hogeschool) from September 24th till October 22nd 2019.
The exhibition can be visited at the Haagse Hogeschool (Johanna Westerdijkplein 75, Den Haag) during its opening hours.
Heritage on the Move
Heritage and migration go hand in hand. People move around the world, and so does their heritage. Cultural heritage is often understood in terms of local identity alone. But in fact it travels across the globe because of trade, human migrations and many other forms of connectivity, including mass media; and it has done so since times immemorial. In this process people may change, but so does their heritage. This modest exhibition of photographs, also to be seen online, reflects the vision of scholars from LeidenGlobal partners regarding ‘Heritage on the Move’, touching several themes in diverse areas.
Leiden University and 'Haagse Hogeschool'
In May 2019 LeidenGlobal partner Leiden University and The Hague University of Applied Sciences decided to increase their teaching and research collaboration. They signed a collaboration agreement to this effect on 8 May.
