Hello everyone,
My name is Jade de Groen, I am 24 years old and I live in Rotterdam. I am happy to mention that as of February 1st I am the new intern of LeidenGlobal and will therefore introduce myself.
Currently I am doing my master studies in International Relations at Leiden University and before this I finished my bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern studies. During my bachelor I studied in Jerusalem for seven months, where I learned a lot about different cultures, languages and religions. I was also able to experience what it is like to live in a conflict zone. In addition, I regularly travel to different parts of the world and I enjoy experiencing the cultural live and interacting with people in different parts of the world.
I would like to gain experience in the workfield of cultural studies and that is why I would like to do an internship at LeidenGlobal. I am enthusiastic and motivated to contribute to the objectives of LeidenGlobal as an intern. As mentioned before, I am very interested in culture, religion and language around the world and I like that at LeidenGlobal I can contribute to increasing the scholarship of cultural studies. With my background I can use my insights and expierence positively within the work of LeidenGlobal. I am convinced that language and culture studies are an enormously important addition to science because it can build bridges between different people and cultures.
In short, I am motivated to learn a lot during my internship at LeidenGlobal, I am eager to make a contribution to the workfield and I look forward to the time ahead.
