Last month LeidenGlobal welcomed a new team member: Killian van der Kraan. As project assistant, he will be helping with the graduate courses, events, exhibitions and online communication. Killian introduces himself here:
My name is Killian van der Kraan. I’ve started working as LeidenGlobal’s Project Assistant as of June 2023. I’m grateful for the opportunity, especially because it aligns with my aspiration to do creative work within the cultural sector. This aspiration is fueled by my affinity for media creation and interest in a.o. art, identity and discrimination. I hope to contribute to a less divided and more honest world, which is also why I’m motivated to help make science more accessible to a broader public.
My educational background broadly consists of Communication & Multimedia Design, Japanstudies (BA) and Asian History, Arts and Culture of Asia (MA). I’ve also followed a variety of courses in the areas of design, education and mental health. In my free time I make weird art, I exercise (sometimes), enjoy podcasts, play videogames, and generally look around me, baffled, wondering what the hell is going on - you know, the usual.
