Every 5 to 6 months LeidenGlobal welcomes a new intern. On February 1st MA student Merel Snoep will start her internship at LeidenGlobal, focussed on online & offline communication and other activities. Merel introduces herself:
My name is Merel Snoep and it is my pleasure to announce that I will be LeidenGlobal’s new intern for the next five months. I am 23 years old and I have just started my master studies in General History at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, I studied History in Leiden and I am really looking forward to returning to this beautiful city for this internship!
Currently, I am specialising in the history of Suriname, but in fact all foreign places have fascinated me from early on. I have always been curious about histories and cultures from around the world and I am eager to learn and discover more about this. I am especially interested in the connections between different cultures and that is also why LeidenGlobal appeals so much to me. Bringing together the great and varied expertise of Leiden’s cultural and academic institutions is very important and I also appreciate LeidenGlobal’s effort to share knowledge with the local community.
As an intern my main responsibilities will be the upkeep of the Social Media and the website. I will also assist with the realisation of LeidenGlobal projects. I am very excited to start and I hope to meet many of you soon!
